Going Paleo for 30 Days

I completed the 28 Fast Metabolism Diet and did not cheat at all. It was not the most pleasant experience, dieting never is. But I walked away from it 10 lbs. lighter. So to me, it was worth it.

Oh No, Not Again
I then attempted the maintenance stage. However, the scale started tipping in the wrong direction almost immediately. Grrrr.... What is a woman who still has 30 lbs. to go supposed to do? I can tell you for sure it isn't staying on the FMD long term. I did mention it wasn't the best experience for me, right?

Now What?
So I decided to do some self reflection and think about what has helped me with weight loss in the past. Trust me, I am an experienced dieter. And therein lies the problem. I desperately need to get off the diet train. I have no problem losing weight. I also have no problem gaining it all back, plus some.

But one lifestyle change did help me significantly before and didn't feel like a diet - eating Paleo. I pondered that for a few days, switched to 99% …

100 Day Healthy Body, Mind, and Spirit Challenge

I watched a video of a woman who went to the gym for 100 days straight and made a recording every single day for those 100 days. She went from weighing in excess of 350 lbs to under 300 lbs. She also gained a lot of confidence and self esteem during that time. It is a very inspirational story.

That got me contemplating what I could do for 100 days straight. I am already 3 weeks into doing the Fast Metabolism diet. So I figure that I can continue to eat clean for 100 days. But, that only seemed to be a piece of the puzzle of changes that I need to make in my life.

So, I added walking to the mix. I can definitely walk for 100 days. And I need to get moving again.

But what is also desperately missing from my life is reading my Bible on a consistent basis. I looked for a 100 day Bible reading program but only came up with a 90 day one, close enough. I REALLY need to get back in the Word and get back to God in a major way.

In a nutshell here is my 100 Day Healthy Body, Mind, and Spirit Challenge that I started today. For the next 100 days:
  • I will eat clean. For me that means no: dairy, wheat, corn, sugar, preservatives, processed foods of any kind. I will also stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water every day.
  • I will walk 10,000 steps every day.
  • I will follow a 90 day Bible reading plan. At the end of that time I will have read the Bible through in its entirety. I have been struggling for years to do this.
I will record a little something something everyday. I am not sure what yet. Maybe I will learn a bit about editing and making a quality video on this journey. But I 'm not making any promises.

Christian Weight Loss Bible Study

Today I found a christian weight loss Bible study that I am really excited about. Not only does the course look good, it is also free. It is called The Lord’s Table and the study is from Setting Captives Free Ministries.

Despite the price of the course (which is nothing) you get quite a bit. Each day you are taken through some passages of scripture, you answer some study questions, and a few testimonials are shared with you. You are even assigned a mentor so that you have accountability when going through the christian weight loss Bible study. Your mentor will stay in touch with you weekly and is available to answer any questions that you may have.

Healing Scriptures Online in Audio

Yesterday I started searching online for healing scriptures after hearing a wonderful sermon about feasting on the Word of God. That teaching made me realize that I needed to take stronger action against sickness and infirmities. Thank you God for medicine and for doctors. But the Great Physician already made a way for us to be healed way back at the cross. 
Songs About Healing
Initially, I was looking for free songs that I could stream where someone was singing healing scripture. I didn't quite find that. But I did come across a CD by Keith Moore that contains songs about healing. You can download the entire CD for free. Well, I couldn't on my iPad but hopefully you'll be able to on the device that you're using.  But I did stream some of the songs; and, I have no doubt that listening to those over and over will increase your faith.
